(AMI) - For August, AMI estimates a disbursement price of conventionally produced cow's milk with 4.0% fat and 3.4% protein of 37.3 Ct / kg. For milk producers, this means an increase in milk prices by 1.3 cents compared to the previous month. In particular, the dairies in the north paid more, whereas in the south-west the increases were below average. As a result, the gap between the highest and the lowest paying federal state increased by 4.5 Ct to a new high in the current year. Compared with the crises of 2016, an average of 13.4 cents more was paid in August, which corresponds to an increase of around 56%. As in the previous month, the average disbursement performance was increased in all federal states. In the federal region of East, the milk producers again received about 1.3 cents more than in July. As a result, prices averaged 38.0 Ct / kg over the federal average. Saxony and Brandenburg, in particular, clearly outperformed the Bundesschnitt. The high price level for butter, as well as possible increases in the cheese dairy prices and the freshness, should also lead to rising trends in milk production prices by the end of the year.The milk supply in Germany should, however, continue to move above the previous year's figure. The again higher milk money is expected to continue this development. Even in the European environment, there are already major increases in production. If demand is able to accommodate the increased supply and if it does not jump suddenly, the market can remain balanced. If, on the other hand, demand is clearly higher than expected, price corrections on all processing stages are likely to occur.
