Sows are increasing in the majority of the EU countries - Spain with + 6% According to the analyzes of May-June pig counts in 14 EU Member States with almost 80% of the animal stocks, a re-increase of the number of pigs by a total of 1.1% compared to the previous year determine. Poland is the country which is increasingly benefiting from Danish piglet surpluses. About 50 of the animals are delivered to Germany. The over 50% decline in sows in Poland appears to have come to an initial end.According to cattle counts, the current stock should grow by 3.6% to 0.88 million animals. Poland has a piglet deficit of approx. 40%. Germany's stock of sows continues to decline by -1.2%. The number of animals falls below 1.9 million, but the FRG remains the second largest piglet producer in the EU. An average increase in the performance of the remaining sows will not be sufficient to keep piglet production on the same level. The piglet imports from Denmark and Holland will continue to grow in the future. Pig farming in France continues to decline despite favorable prices. According to recent results, the number of sows is 2.3% to 0.98 million. The background is on the one hand the marginal sales of France and the remaining production and marketing structures.Higher EU sows, coupled with further increases in fermenting capacity , will lead to an increase in pig sales in the coming months. Since Germany is the biggest pigletport country in the EU, the number of offers will also grow.
