The State of French wheat and barley stocks has deteriorated slightly in the past week. This reports the French agricultural consultancy FranceAgriMer. As of 17 April, 85% of the soft wheat stocks in France the top rating received "good to excellent". The share was 89% in the previous week.
Also in the winter barley the ratings were worse, than in the previous week. 78% of stocks were given the top rating versus 82% in the previous week. The decline in the summer barley is slightly less strong. The ratings decreased by 1% for the previous week to 85%.
Warm and dry weather has dried up even further the floors last month after the dry winter.
Corn sowing in France is done by April 17 to 57%. Seeding progress was 31% in the previous week. Thus, it is clearly come further with corn sowing in France, as last year, at the same time just 9% of the surfaces were finished.
