The private analyst firm Informa Economics has increased its forecast of US corn acreage in 2018 from 90.460 million acres to 91.415 million acres. This is clear from a document that dates to the 16th of November and is available to the Reuters news service.
The soybean crop area estimate of 2018 has been reduced from 90.347 million acres in October to 89.627 million acres.
Infoma employees were not available for comment.
At the 2017 harvest, the acreage was 90.4 million acres of corn and 90.2 million acres of soybean, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
