Rapeseed showed a wide trading range yesterday. The front month of May 24 was able to reach a trading high of 416 euros/t, while at the same time there was a further trading range with a daily low of 409.50 euros/t. In the end, however, the contracts mostly stood still. The front month of May left the trading session unchanged at 415.00 euros/t. The August date increased marginally by 0.75 euros/t to 416 euros/t. A similar development also occurred yesterday in the important canola market in Canada. The most traded May contract on the ICE in Winnipeg closed almost unchanged at 591 Can dollars (401.93 euros/t). Overall, only a few volumes are traded on the cash markets. There are once again signs of a tight supply in the rapeseed meal market. Some rapeseed mills are not active in the market for prompt deliveries or cannot accommodate requests for short-term deliveries. The national average price offers are currently 285 euros/t, around 10 euros higher than at the beginning of February. In the east the prices are slightly lower than in the west and north. Soybean meal is usually offered at the same price compared to the previous week.
