Potatoes
There are no legally binding minimum characteristics for table potatoes. Competition ultimately determines the quality of the goods on offer.
The indication "according to Berlin agreements" is often found in the offer of table potatoes. The Berlin Agreements document commercial practice and are therefore a basis for contract design at all stages of the potato industry. They do not contain any binding labeling rules. However, two quality standards are anchored in the Berlin Agreements, which may be referred to voluntarily in the trade, for example on the label of packaged goods, if the corresponding requirements are met. A distinction is made between potatoes of "Extra quality according to the Berlin Agreements" and "Quality I according to the Berlin Agreements". The Berlin Agreements also document minimum and maximum sizes for potatoes bearing the label "Drilling".
