MATIF Rapeseed meal spot / futures market prices & news

The agricultural and stock market news for rapeseed, canola and the soy complex is updated daily. Price-influencing assessments by institutes such as the USDA are covered, as are strong market currents and political influences. The rapeseed quotations on Euronext (MATIF) are displayed in real time (sec.). Soybeans, meal and oil are traded on the CBOT and displayed by the ZMP neartime (approx. 10 min).

Rapeseed extraction meal (RES) is obtained in oil mills by extracting the rapeseed oil from the rapeseed using solvents as a by-product. Hexane, for example, is used as a solvent, which must then be removed from the extraction meal by means of a wet/warm treatment. Removing the solvent from the extraction meal by adding water vapor is also known as toasting. The pressure and temperature of this process influence the protein quality of the end product. In contrast to extraction meal, rapeseed cake is produced during the cold pressing of rapeseed oil. Extraction meal from other oilseeds, especially soybean extraction meal, competes with RES in its use as animal feed.
