Russia SovEcon expects high grain exports in July

Russia Agricultural advisors SovEcon expects relatively high exports of 2.5 - 2.7 million tonnes of grain at the beginning of the new marketing period 2017/18 (July 1 - June 30), of which about 2.0 million tonnes of wheat. The estimation also includes flour and husk crops, as well as deliveries to Russia's neighbors Belarus and Armenia, with which a free trade agreement exists.
In June, Russia will export an estimated 2.0 - 2.2 million tonnes of grain, including 1.3 - 1.4 million tonnes of wheat, 200,000 tonnes of barley and 300,000 - 400,000 tonnes of maize. Overall, exports will reach a record volume of 36.3 million tonnes, including 27.4 million tonnes of wheat, 4.8 million tonnes of maize and 3.1 million tonnes of barley.
On June 1, cereal stocks on farms (excluding micro-enterprises) and processing companies rose by 31% on the previous year to 18.5 million tonnes, according to the statistical authority Rosstat. This is the highest level since 2011.
The harvest activities are delayed this year due to the cold spring.
