Iraq's state grain buyer has launched an invitation to purchase 50,000 tonnes of hard wheat from the USA, Canada or Australia. The tender ends on 3 July and the offers are valid until 9 July.
There has been an uncertainty among suppliers since April, after the Ministry of Commerce announced that it would import rice and wheat in the future. Previously, the financial statements were jeopardized due to the lack of collateral.
Sellers complained again and again payment delays, which are probably due to the lower crude price. There were no offers for two calls for tenders in June because of the problems mentioned.
The volumes, which are mentioned in the Iraqi bidding, are nominal, that is, usually larger quantities are bought than announced.
