June-22: DRV estimates the German rapeseed harvest in 2022 at 3.8 million t The German Raiffeisen Association (DRV) estimates in its June issue. In 2022 the German rapeseed harvest will be 8.4% higher than in the previous year at 3.8 million t . The decisive factor is the +7.9% increase in cultivated area , which the Stat. Federal Office determined on May 19, 2022. The DRV estimated the probable area yields to be only 0.4% higher than in the previous year at 35.2 dt/ha. The harvest results vary in the individual federal states. The largest increase is expected in Baden-Württemberg with an increase of 26.7%, which is mainly caused by increased acreage (15.8%). The second highest increase of +24.3% is predicted for Schleswig-Holstein , in this state the area under cultivation increased again by 16.9%.The DRV also estimates an increase in earnings of 6.3% compared to the previous year. In Lower Saxony and North Rhine- Westphalia , the rapeseed harvests are each predicted to be 17% higher than in the previous year. The decisive factor is the expanded acreage of 17 or 11%: while no increase in yield is expected for Lower Saxony, the DRV estimates a yield increase of 5.5% for NRW. In Brandenburg , an 11.3% higher rapeseed harvest is expected, which is solely due to the increased acreage. In Saxony-Anhalt , the DRV has corrected the result significantly downwards, the decisive factor is the decline in earnings of -8.3%. The rapeseed harvest in Hesse is estimated to be 9.4 % higher than in the previous year, solely due to the area.In the other federal states, the calculations are consistently based on increasing harvest quantities on a smaller scale. For Germany, as for the entire EU-27, there will also be an import requirement for rapeseed in 2022-23. That's why we're looking forward to the two big export countries, Canada with an export volume of 8.5 million tons and Australia with 3.5 million tons. Expectations for significant deliveries from Ukraine remain low.
