DRV estimates German grain harvest at 45.16 million t The German Raiffeisenverband (DRV) dares a first forecast for the German grain harvest 2020 . The basis is the Federal Statistical Office's findings on the cultivation conditions of the winter seeds and estimates of the remaining area for the summer seeds. The income assumptions are based on the trend extrapolations over a multi-year average. The wheat area has declined by 6.1% according to the Federal Office's investigations. In contrast, rye cultivation is said to have increased by 5.4%. Triticale falls 3.9%. In return, corn cultivation is expected to increase by 6.7%. Barley changes very little at -0.7%. The German area yield is expected to be 72.7 dt / ha on average for all cereals, 4.6% higher than in the previous year.Wheat is expected to be 78 dt / ha (+ 5.2%), rye should deliver 56 dt / ha (+ 10.3%). The winter barley is estimated to be 73.1 dt / ha (+ 1.3%). The K. maize is said to produce an average of 92.6 dt / ha (+ 5.1%). However, the income assumptions are still subject to considerable risks later in the year. The total harvest is estimated at 45.15 million t and is on average over several years. Compared to the 5-year average, 4% less wheat is used , but approx. 7% more barley and maize counted.
