Germany: V price 2.00 €/kg (range 2.00 - 2.00 €/kg) - The weekly slaughter figures are smaller at 650,106 pigs ( previous week 808,947 ) (not fully comparable; the slaughter weights are 97.3 kg slightly increased. With 238,000 pigs (previous week 339,200 ), the pre- registrations signal continued low live offers. Price quotation for cuts was discontinued.At the ISN auction on Tue, Jan 10th. In 2023 , an average price of €2.06/kg (-1 ct/kg to the pre-auction) was achieved in a range of €2.075 to €2.105/kg. The supernatant was 20% . The V price for the period from January 12, 2023 to January 18 , 2023 has remained at €2.00/kg; the range is from 2.00 to 2.00 €/kg. ASF : As of January 9th, 2023, 4,782 ASF infected wild boars in Brandenburg, Saxony and Mecklenburg have been officially confirmed. Recently, a strong accumulation of finds in the Spree-Neisse area (Brandenburg) was observed. Market and price development in selected competitor countries: In Denmark , the prices in the 02nd week of 2023 were reduced by a further 3 ct/kg at a comparable calculated €1.80/kg. In Belgium the prices are in the 02.KW 2023 with 1.89 €/kg reduced by 3 ct/kg. In the Netherlands , prices have stabilized in the second week of 2023 with a comparable calculation of €1.82/kg. In France/Brittany , prices rose by 5 cents/kg to €1.88/ kg . The slaughter figures are little changed at 389,794 pigs. Slaughter weights are slightly higher at just under 96.3 kg. In Italy , the listings in the 02nd week of 2023 fell by a further 3 ct/kg . Sales after the holidays are very sluggish. In Spain , the prices in the 02nd week of 2023 remained unchanged at a comparable €2.16/ kg for the umpteenth time. The domestic supply of live animals only just covers demand. In the USA/IOWA , prices have fallen further to the equivalent of € 1.49 /kg . The battle numbers have risen again. The prices for parts have mostly fallen sharply.For the new front month February-2023, the futures prices on the stock exchange are listed at €1.66/kg; for the summer months prices above 2 €/kg are traded. Brazil: Producer prices have fallen to €1.62/kg on average with weaker REAL. Sales at home and abroad have declined considerably. China: Prices have fallen further to the equivalent of € 3.34/kg . The exchange rate has stabilized. The usual boost in demand before the Chinese New Year at the end of January 2023 has had almost no effect. The forward rates for the month March-2023 are only quoted at €2.86/kg. Prices above €3.12/kg will not be traded again until May 2023. Conclusion: The usual slump in sales in the meat business after the holidays has not yet been overcome. The livestock trade is largely balanced after the holidays.
