As a result of the correction in wheat, corn contracts on Euronext/Matif in Paris also fell. In its publication yesterday, the EU forecasting service MARS once again reduced the yield per hectare for the European maize harvest. Instead of 6.39 t/ha in September, 6.34 t/ha are now expected. For Germany, the agency still expects a yield of 8.57 t/ha. Only in Poland and the Czech Republic are yields per hectare likely to be slightly better than the five-year average. In all other countries, the average for the last five years is well below. Corn contracts on the CBoT also ended slightly weaker. The corn crop is on target in the US. However, domestic logistics remain problematic, as low water continues to prevail on the Mississippi. Export shipments are slightly lower than in the previous week, but at 470,623 tons in the past week they are well behind the same week last year. Pre-market today, the eCBoT shows slightly negative signs.
