The decline in the pig population and the Covid-related restrictions are reducing the supply. Forward rates on the Dalian Stock Exchange will drop in Sept.-2022 already traded again at 3.56 €/kg . In the third quarter of 2022, profits should finally be made again. Conclusion: The increase in consumer prices observed worldwide has triggered a drop in demand. The barbecue season is currently only having a limited effect on meat sales. Hopes are pinned on a persistently low supply of live animals.
