Options Strategie: Butterfly Building in Two Steps
Über diesen Beitrag bin ich unlängst gestolpert:
This is simple, cheap, and a lot of fun. Follow this step by step. Let's say our objective is to ultimately build a Butterfly:
Long: 10 Contracts Jan 06 $60C
Short: 20 Contracts Jan 06 $65C
Long: 10 Contracts Jan 06 $70C
1) Look for a stock where IV and is low. Then determine if you have a conviction as to the direction of the stock over the next 6 months or possibly longer. Because this is long term fundamentals are more important than technicals here.
2) Assuming you are bullish. (Works in either direction; however, for purpose of the illustration let's say we're bullish.)
3) Assume XYZ selling for $50. In keeping with the low IV, you should be able to fill a Bull Call Debit Spread (January 06: 60C/65C), for a net debit of say 30 cents or $300 before commissions.
4) After this is filled, put in a Good Till Cancelled (GTC) order on a January 06 Bear Call Credit Spread (Buy 70C/Sell 65C) for a net credit of 30 cents, or $300 before commissions.
At this point this order in (4)is nowhere close to being filled, but that's what a GTC order is for. You have two things working for you. First, if the stock goes up you have the obvious delta-gamma effect on the calls making it likely to fill. Second, because we're starting with low IV, any increase in the IV will also help you fill quicker.
If you can get this Bear Call Credit Spread filled, you have a butterfly with a zero net debit (except for commissions). As most of you know, if you have a zero net debit butterfly, worse case is you break even. Maximum Risk = zero. Maximum profit = $5,000, which happens if XYZ is right at $65 at expiration. Ya gotta love those odds.
That's it. One slight variation would be after you fill the initial Bull Call Spread, take a look at the $70C. It might look something like Bid .05/ Ask .10. What the heck, put in a bid to buy them at a nickle. If it fills you have 3/4 of your butterfly and now all you need to do to complete the butterfly is Sell To Open the additional $65 Calls for 35 cents.
At the start of this posting I said that this was 'simple'. Please don't misunderstand me by thinking that 'simple' and 'easy' mean the same thing. This is not easy. It requires time and effort. But since this encompasses just about every element of successful options trading, I think it is fun. Finally, note that at no time am I ever at risk more than $300 (except if I choose the alternative and can get the $70C's for a nickle, in which case I have $350 at risk).
My friends, what say you?

z.B. =1 - normvert(30;0;15;wahr)

Also :
