However, while meat prices are rising, producer prices remain largely unchanged. In Italy the situation remains difficult with reduced slaughtering and processing capacities. The pent-up live supply leads to high slaughter weights with a slowly decreasing tendency. The already low producer prices are still under pressure. The ham trade remains unsatisfactory. The relaxed out-of-home consumption is hardly noticeable in terms of price increases. In Spain there is more movement again in demand. The living offer is no longer so urgent.
